Isaac Was Who We Thought He'd Be
The leftovers of what was once a hurricane that pounded the gulf coast likely got most areas closer to being out of a drought over the weekend.

Hurricane Isaac hit with almost full force late Friday, and continued through Saturday and part of Sunday.

As of noon Sunday, the National Weather Service reports anywhere between two and a half and five inches of rain fell over most of Illinois.

In Galesburg, trained weather spotters reported about 2 3/4 inches of rain as of Sunday, but not far away, it was a lot worse.

Weather Service totals indicate that elsewhere in Knox County, Abingdon received a whopping 4 1/2 inches of rain, while Knoxville received just over three inches.

Fulton County was hard hit, too, with Canton reporting four-and-a-third inches of rain.

Elsewhere, Altona received about 2 1/4 inches of rain, while one of the largest totals in the National Weather Service Lincoln area was in Flora, which received almost six inches of rain.

Tornado warnings and watches on Saturday did not result in any major damage.

Rain chances dot the forecast at various parts of the week, but by Thursday, highs will again cool to the 70's.
