Man Accused of Carjacking Sent to Prision
A Chicago man who was accused of committing a carjacking last year and was one of five people arrested in the case will be headed to prison.

Knox County Circuit Court Records indicate 21-year old Rontonio Guterz was sentenced yesterday to 13 years in prison for a charge of Armed Robbery Accountability. He pleaded guilty to that charge back in July.

Guterz and five others were arrested about a year ago after a car was reported stolen near the Bell Isle Apartment Complex. The car was later found near West Main Street and Linwood Road.

Police accuse Guterz and the four others of hitting a then-26-year old man in the head with a gun during the theft, causing the firearm to accidentally go off.

Guterz was given credit for 355 days served in the Knox County Jail. Back in July, Several other more serious felony charges were dismissed.

Two others -- 21 year old Isaac Jeffries and Kione Moore -- are serving two years in prison for charges of obstruction of justice.

Meantime, the remaining two arrested in the case -- 20 year old Michael Williams and 20 year old Robert Kimble -- will be sentenced in two weeks.
