Burglary to Galesburg Pet Store Results in Missing Cat
Management at a Galesburg business says nothing of any actual value was taken when their store was broken into a day ago, but say an item of much more significant value was.

Galesburg Police confirm that someone apparently broke into Thorn's Pets and Supplies at 44 North Seminary Street sometime late Thursday or early Friday, but wasn't discovered by police around 5:45 am Friday when they noticed the store's west door had been damaged.

Police say no cash or other items were discovered missing, but they do say someone took "Susie," the store's cat.

"Susie" is described as a gray calico-like cat, and Thorn's owner Emily Thorn Carlson says she's distressed at Susie's disappearance and hope she'll be returned safely.

Police say anyone with information should call their department or the Galesburg-Area CrimeStoppers hotline.

Carlson says it's the third time in two years the store has been broken into.
