Early Voting Popular in Galesburg, Still Catching on in Rest of Knox County
Election officials across the state are reporting strong Early Voting numbers, and that's also the case in Galesburg.

Early voting ended Thursday, and the sight of lines of people waiting to cast their ballots was common. Thousands of Galesburg voters have made their way to City Hall, especially this week, to formally make their selections ahead of election day. Kathy Bradford, Executive Director of the Galesburg Board of Election Commissioners, tells WGIL it's been very heavy in the city.

"As of (Thursday night), we have 3,052 that have voted early," Bradford said. "So that's a really good number."

Bradford says Galesburg has 18,883 registered voters, and the Early Voting option is really catching on here.

Early Voting numbers weren't nearly as strong in Knox County. The clerk's office says 749 people cast ballots, and Knox County has over 16,000 registered voters.
