Durbin & Sauerberg Debate Tonight at Knox College; Live Coverage and Analysis on WGIL and wgil.com
Knox College in Galesburg will be the site of tonight's debate between our candidates for U.S. Senate.

U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) and Republican challenger Steve Sauerberg are the candidates. Michael Burt, president of the Knox College Republicans, says it'll be a new experience, because none of the members of his club have ever had the chance to sit in the audience and watch a debate for an office as important as a seat in the U.S. Senate.

Alex Kemmsies of the Knox College Democrats says his group is energized as well, with shirts and buttons to support Durbin.

This debate comes 150 years and two days after the famous Lincoln-Douglas debate in Galesburg, which was re-enacted on Saturday. That debate was three hours long. This one will be 53 minutes.

The debate hall at Knox College will be open to a limited number of Knox College students and faculty. The general public will not be admitted. The debate will be broadcast live on WGIL, and streamed online at wgil.com starting approximately 8pm. To hear the live stream, click on the "Special Events Live Audio Stream" link on the left side of this page.

WGIL and wgil.com will also broadcast live analysis following the debate, from 9 to 9:30pm.
