Victim Identified in Fatal Train Accident in Monmouth
A man is dead, officials say, after he was apparently struck by a train near the Wells Pet Food plant in Monmouth late Wednesday morning.

Monmouth Police say 43-year old Rudy Hunt Junior was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, which happened near the crossing at South "D" and West Fifth Streets in Monmouth, just behind the Wells plant, around 11:30 a-m Wednesday.

Police say Hunt was pronounced dead at the scene by Warren County Coroner Bill Underwood a half-hour later.

Police say the train was headed westbound at the time it apparently struck Hunt. They say their investigation is ongoing, and haven't released any more details into the fatal accident.

Fire, police, and other crews could be seen well into the afternoon Wednedsday cleaning up debris from the scene.
