Contest Looks for "Lincoln Heroes"
If there's someone in your life who inspires you the way Abraham Lincoln inspires people, you might want to enter a new essay and art contest, "Looking for Your Lincoln Hero." The Looking for Lincoln Heritage Coalition is working with myhero.com to put on the contest, announced Thursday at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum by U.S. Congressman Ray LaHood (R-18th) and US Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL).

Hal Smith is executive director of Looking for Lincoln and has added duties as manager of the Abraham Lincoln National Heritage Area -- both of which receive federal funds. The latter of the two is in a matching program, up to a (m) million dollars a year for fifteen years. As for Looking for Lincoln, Smith says about fifty of the "wayside storyboards" have recently been added, with a hundred more in the next year in areas where there's a Lincoln story -- including Quincy, Pittsfield, and Champaign.
