Crowds Gather When Arrests Announced in Beason Murder Case
The announcements of new developments in the Beason mass murder have brought quite a crowd almost every time. On Wednesday evening, Logan County Sheriff Steve Nichols announced the arrests of three people who are accused of obstruction of justice.

Among those in a church hall listening to the sheriff was Gerald Miller, a Lincoln man whose son -- 14-year-old Dillen Constant -- was one of the murder victims. Miller says Dillen was a good boy who was energetic and loved sports. While he was not married to Dillen's mother, he says he got along well enough with Ruth Gee and her husband, Raymond "Rick" Gee, who were also killed.

Miller says he did not believe the Gee family had enemies or were involved in anything wrong: "I would have pulled Dillen out of there in a minute if (Rick Gee) was a bad guy. They were good people."

Christopher Harris, ex-husband of one of Rick Gee's older children, is accused of murder. Harris' brother, Jason, is accused of obstruction of justice, as are Jason Harris' girlfriend -- Jennifer Earnest -- and Earnest's mother, Sara Duncan. Rick and Ruth Gee were found dead Sept. 21, along with Dillen and Justina Constant and Austin Gee.
