Arrest Made in Beason Murders
There has been an arrest in the mass murder a week and a half ago in Beason, east of Lincoln in Logan County in Central Illinois.

30-year-old Christopher Harris of McLean County was arrested Thursday afternoon at the Safety Complex in Lincoln, according to Sheriff Steve Nichols. He's accused of murder in the beating deaths of Raymond "Rick" Gee, 46, Ruth Gee, 39, Justina Constant, 16, Dillen Constant, 14, and Austin Gee, 11. A 3-year-old, Tabitha Gee, survived the attack and is being treated at a Peoria hospital.

Harris is reported to be the former husband of Nicole Gee, an adult child of Rick Gee. Nichols would not confirm that, only saying Harris was "familiar" to the victims.

Nichols, in a Thursday night news conference lasting less than three minutes, said, "A gray primer-colored 1989 Ford Ranger pickup truck under the control of Christopher Harris has been seized." Nichols would not say where the truck was found, but he and the task force investigating the killings have publicized the truck, notable not only for its primer, but also for its vertical exhaust pipes in the rear of the bed.

Nichols would not rule out further arrests.
