Comedian to Tape National Program in Galesburg at Orpheum
A comedy show that will be at Galesburg's Orpheum Theatre in just a couple weeks could very well help put the city in a national spotlight.

Comedian Bob Zany is a frequent contributor to the "Bob and Tom" Radio show heard six days a week on Galesburg Broadcasting Station WLSR, and will be performing a show at the Orpheum October 30th. But Zany says that show will be taped for a nationally-broadcast special he's putting together.

Zany tells WGIL there's more than one reason he chose to tape his special here.

"I played the Orpheum. I fell in love with the Orpheum," Zany said. "I love the comedy history. I mean, how can you not play at a place that, actually, the Marx Brothers came up with their names (at)? Groucho, Chico...why not Zane-O? We're going to go all around town (too). I'm going to be filming for that. I'm going to do special shows."

Zany says he's also planning on holding a parade if he can get away with it, but, in true comedy fashion, he wants it to be filled with unusual items, and held at a time of day guaranteed to have no one show up.

The taping, Zany says, should be part of a documentary he's been working on marking his 30 years in comedy.

Zany's performance at the Orpheum is Friday, October 30th. You can find more information on the show, including how to buy tickets, by CLICKING HERE.
