New Director Named at Spoon River College Macomb Campus
President of Spoon River College, Dr. Robert E. Ritschel, has announced the appointment of Daniel Marvin as the Director of the Spoon River College Campus in Macomb. He began his duties October 12, 2009.

As Director, Marvin will oversee the general operations of the campus, and also provide instructional and administrative support. He was most recently employed as the Coordinator of Recruitment/Academic Support Specialist at West Kentucky Community and Technical College.

Marvin earned a B.S. in both Psychology and Criminal Justice from Murray State University in Kentucky and a M.S. in Organization and Management with an emphasis on Leadership from Capella University in Minnesota. He is presently working on his doctorate in Education from Capella University.

"I am looking forward to a positive working and learning experience in my new position at Spoon River College," said Marvin. "Macomb seems like a great town and I will be working to support the ties between the community and the college."

Marvin will reside in Macomb, along with his wife Heather and son Ashton.

Spoon River College is a two-year, public community college in West Central Illinois with campuses in Canton and Macomb and learning centers in Havana and Rushville that serve approximately 4,000 credit students per year. The college offers comprehensive educational services including transfer courses in the areas of liberal arts and the sciences, career and technical education, developmental and basic skills education, community education, and workforce training.
