$1 Homes Get No Bidders
BARRINGTON, Ill. (AP) -- Three older homes are up for sale in the Chicago suburb of Barrington, but they didn't draw any bids - despite a $1 sale price.

The village is still hoping to sell and move the houses so the land they sit on can be used for redevelopment.

Barrington officials originally threatened to demolish the buildings - despite an outcry from historic preservationists - if no bids came in. Those plans are on hold at this point.

Instead, potential homeowners will get another chance to bid in the next month. And Acting Village Manager Jeff Lawler says buyers will have until late March to make arrangements to move the homes.
