Area Man Leads Police on Foot Chase
A local man wanted on a number of warrants is accused of leading police on a foot pursuit through Galesburg.

Galesburg Police reports indicate an officer was on routine patrol near east Second street and Whiting Ave just before 3pm Wednesday when he observed a subject identified as 41-year old Larry Brayman walking. The officer reportedly knew Brayman to have outstanding county warrants as well as an order of protection against him at a nearby residence.

The officer said he made eye contact with Brayman as he tried to cover his face, and then directed him to place his hands on the back of the squad car.

Police say Brayman fled when the officer tried to arrest him, and when the officer used a tazer on him, he allegedly took off his coat and fled again.

The officer was able to catch up and get suspect on the ground and secure him with the aid of a citizen who later told police he saw what was happening and wanted to help.

Police officers later located a case Brayman is accused of throwing, and found a plastic baggie containing a white chunky substance which allegedly field tested positive for methamphetamine.

Brayman was arrested for resisting a peace officer, possession of meth, seven outstanding Knox County warrants, and another warrant out of Peoria.

Brayman is currently awaiting time before a judge while in Knox County Jail.
