Chicago Tribune Endorses Brady for Governor
CHICAGO (AP) -- The Chicago Tribune has endorsed Republican Bill Brady in the race for Illinois governor.

An editorial that appears in Sunday editions says Brady's better positioned to say 'no' to insider politics than his Democratic opponent, Gov. Pat Quinn. It argues Quinn can't say 'no' to anyone.

Much of the endorsement for Brady is devoted to lambasting Quinn.

It says Quinn had a chance to serve as a true reformer after taking over from
impeached Gov. Rod Blagojevich. But it says he squandered that chance.

The editorial praises Brady's ideas for introducing more competition in public education.

But it stops short of a ringing endorsement. It asks, ``Does Brady have what it takes?'' Then it answers, ``We don't know, but we think he does.''
