Wal-Mart Pulls Allegedly Lead-Tainted Products
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) -- Walmart says it is removing a number of children's products from its shelves that a consumer group says tested for high levels of lead.

The company earlier this week removed the products from shelves in California, where the state attorney general alerted the company to the findings by the Oakland, Calif.-based Center for Environmental Health. Walmart said Thursday it is pulling the products nationwide.

The items include toy boxing gloves and foam jewelry beads.

Walmart spokesman Lorenzo Lopez says the retailer has its own passing test results from labs accredited by the Consumer Product Product Safety Commission. But out of an abundance of caution, the company will remove the products as it further investigates the matter.
