IL Military Recruiter Stabbed
FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS, Ill. (AP) -- Authorities say an Air Force recruiter is hospitalized after being stabbed with scissors at an Armed Forces career center near a mall in southwestern Illinois.

Fairview Heights police Lt. John Proffitt says the 27-year-old recruiter was tending to a male visitor early Tuesday and turned his back to retrieve paperwork when the man stabbed him.

The unidentified recruiter's injuries are not considered life-threatening. His medical condition at the hospital was not immediately available.

There's no word on whether the suspect has been caught or what the possible motive in the attack may have been.

The center houses recruitment offices for Air Force, Army, Navy and Marines, with each branch having a separate entrance into the building.
