Candidates Compare Opponents to Criminal Governors
(IRN)-Candidates for Illinois governor are linking their opponents to convicted previous governors.

Republican candidate State Senator Bill Brady repeatedly connected Governor. Pat Quinn to convicted ex-Governor Rod Blagojevich during a gubernatorial debate Wednesday evening.

Meanwhile, Quinn says Brady supported former Governor George Ryan who is serving a prison sentence for corruption.

Quinn questioned why Brady was accepting campaign contributions from a former Blagojevich deputy governor.

Speaking with reporters after the debate, Brady acknowledged he did attend the fundraiser in order to better understand the needs of the Latino community. He called former Blagojevich Deputy Governor Dean Martinez a good person, before talking about how Quinn has yet to fumigate state government of Blagojevich and convicted political fundraiser Tony Rezko holdovers. Asked if he would have those with Rezko ties removed, Brady said he would ask for their resignations.

Former McPier CEO Juan Ochoa attended the "Latinos for Brady" fundraiser as well.

The debate was hosted by the League of Women Voters of Illinois. It didn't include the Green Party's Rich Whitney or Libertarian Lex Green.
