Gingrich Stumps for Brady, Other GOP Candidates
(IRN)-Former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich visited Collinsville Friday to help Illinois Republicans in their quest to oust several Democrats from office.

Gingrich specifically encouraged Republican faithful to vote for State Senator Bill Brady, who's running against Democratic Governor Pat Quinn, and U.S. Representative Mark S. Kirk, who's running for U.S. Senate against Democratic State Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias. Gingrich says the Senate seat is critical because if Kirk wins, it will stop Democrats from passing major initiatives during the lame duck session.

Gingrich in general pushed his jobs message, saying he and Brady agree that companies need incentives to create more jobs, rather than asking government to help subsidize people who can't find a job.
