Student Arrested for University Bomb Threat
A teenager is under arrest for allegedly calling a bomb threat into a residence hall on the campus of Western Illinois University.

The College says in a news release that 18 year old Cameron McKoy is being held in the McDonough County Jail on charges of Transmitting a Threat of Destruction to a School. Bond and other information isn't available.

University authorities say a bomb threat was called in to the hall clerk at Tanner Hall around 3:30 yesterday afternoon. The building, they say, was immediately evacuated.

The university says bomb-sniffing dogs were brought in from McDonough and Rock Island Counties, but no bomb was ever found.

Residents of the hall were allowed to return to their dorms around five hours later.

University officials are thanking students along with the Office of Public Safety at the university.

A Facebook page for a Cameron McKoy who is a student at Western indicates he's studying business management and mass communications, and is from the Chicago area.
