Relatives Relieved Someone Held in NIU Probe
DEKALB, Ill. (AP) -- A relative of a Northern Illinois University art student says her family is relieved a person of interest is being held in the investigation of her death.

Police haven't positively identified burned remains found in a park near the school as belonging to 18-year-old Antinette "Toni" Keller. However, Keller's cousin said Friday the family believes they're hers.

Mary Tarling says Keller's camera and sketch pad were found near those remains.

Tarling says the family is thankful that what police call "a person of interest" is being held. She says the family would find their tragedy harder to cope with if others are hurt by a suspect in her death.

Police will only say the person is in custody in another state on lesser charges. Tarling says police haven't given the family details, either.
