Cell Phone Picture Sends Man to Jail
A Galesburg man is in custody after allegedly taking a photo on a cell phone of himself and a child engaged in a sexual act.

60 year old Howard Campbell of Galesburg was arrested Wednesday after officials at Galesburg High School took possession of a 16 year old girl's phone.

The girl had apparently been showing the photo on the phone to classmates in her special education class.

Police were contacted and the teenager told them the photo was of her and her mother's boyfriend.

According to police reports, the girl was at her aunt's home in Galesburg Sunday, where Campbell also lives.

The two were allegedly alone in a bedroom when the photo was taken and the girl said Campbell told her he would send it to her mother, but the photo was accidentally sent to her instead.

Police are investigating the incident. Campbell was arrested and charged with sex exploitation of a child sex act and aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

Campbell's first appearance in court is scheduled for November third at 11 a.m.
