Body of Tazewell County Man Found in Chicago
CHICAGO (AP) -- Chicago police are investigating the death of a Tazewell County man whose badly decomposed body was found in parking garage in the South Loop neighborhood.

Officer Daniel O'Brien of the Chicago Police News Affairs office told the Chicago Tribune that a maintenance worker found the body of the 53-year-old man Monday afternoon after smelling a strong odor coming from a 2002 Oldsmobile minivan.

O'Brien said the minivan was registered in East Peoria, but the dead man was believed to be from Morton.

He said a security camera showed the minivan being driven into the garage on Aug. 18.

O'Brien said the dead man was wanted on an outstanding warrant in Peoria County for failure to appear in court on a robbery charge.

An autopsy was scheduled for Tuesday.
