White Endorses Kelly for Tresurer
A Democrat on next month's statewide ballot has picked up a big name, if not unexpected, endorsement. Secretary of State Jesse White appeared at a Capitol news conference Tuesday to endorse treasurer candidate Robin Kelly.

The Kelly campaign notes the Republican in the race, State Senator Dan Rutherford, ran against White four years ago and was squashed. Of course, Rutherford is not running against White now; he is running against Kelly.

"It's the same person running again," Kelly said of Rutherford. "Hopefully, I'll beat him like the secretary did. He's the same state senator."

The availability of credit card payments was one area White touted as an example of how his office has worked well with the treasurer's office, where Kelly is chief of staff.
