More Women than Men Participate in Elections
(IRN)-The candidates who ignore women voters do so at their own peril, according to the co-founder of a new web site dedicated to women's involvement in Illinois elections.

Karen Boehning of www.votingwomen.org says, "Illinois' female voters outnumbered male voters in every age group in the state's last midterm election. In every age group the percentage of female voters increased again in Illinois during the 2008 general election."

Boehning, who says she has been involved in women's rights for a long time, says the site coincides with the 90th anniversary of women being granted the right to vote.
