VFW Endorses Hare
The Veterans of Foreign Wars Political Action Committee wants Congressman Phil Hare to serve another term.

The VFW gave Hare their endorsement and the Galesburg native was in town to announce it Thursday.

Hare tells WGIL believes he received the support because he has worked so hard to support veterans rights and services, especially in the 17th District.

"Probably my most proud moment so far since I've in Congress was the announcement of the opening of the veteran's outpatient clinic is Sterling Illinois. That will have about 4000 plus veterans a year that will be going in and it's a full service - it's called CBOC - Community Based Outpatient Clinic."

Hare says he is proud to have the VFW's support and that it definitely won't hurt his bid for re-election against opponent Bobby Schilling of Colonna.

WGIL attempted to contact the Schilling campaign for comment, but they declined.
