Stone-Hayes Axes Monmouth Office
Stone-Hayes Assistant Director Vanya Peterson tells WGIL the office in Monmouth had become a luxury, and closing it will not affect the services provided to Henderson and Warren counties.

"We feel that if we can save money becauase we have experienced cuts, we can save money by closing that office down, we can retain staff and still be able to provide services in the three county area," Peterson said.

"And a lot of them of very rural, tt was just one of those decisions that was not easy to make, the board supported it 100-percent. And it's just a sign of the times, the economic times."

Peterson says an advocate familiar with the Henderson and Warren County area has been hired to specifically assist those in need there.

She says despite the difficulties facing this advocate in roaming a ninety minute radius in those counties, no individual is worth more than the next.

Peterson says Stone-Hayes will continue to do everything they can to maintain programs and services for everyone in their three county area, regardless of continued cutting of resources.
