UPDATED: Traffic Back To Normal After Cattle-Carrying Semi Spill
The Henry County Sheriffs Department and Illinois State Police are reporting that a semi carrying cattle turned over this morning after hitting the center median on I-74.

Officials say shortly before 6AM the semi rolled over between mile post markers 20 and 26. It took several hours for emergency responders to clear the area of cattle.

According to Sheriffs Deputies, the driver of the semi was taken to OSF St. Mary Medical Center. The severity of his injuries are unknown. His identity has yet to be released.

Police say traffic is back to normal near I-74 and Rt. 81 after earlier asking motorists traveling through the Andover/ Lynn Center area this morning to use alternative routes.

State Police are confirming some the cattle died from the accident, and others were put down shortly after.

State police and Sheriffs Deputies are continuing their investigation.
