Man Accused In String Of Armed Robberies Pleads Guilty
A Galesburg teenager who is one of six accused of having roles in what police believe was a string of armed robberies last year has pleaded guilty in the case.

Knox County Circuit Court records indicate 18-year old Seville Boyd pleaded guilty yesterday to a single Class-X felony count of armed robbery.

Judge Paul Mangieri is believed to have ordered a pre-sentence investigation in the case, and scheduled a sentencing hearing for January 26th.

Boyd and five others were arrested in late-December of last year, following the robbery of Grand Liquor on Grand Avenue.

Three people police reports described as being black males with hooded clothing allegedly robbed the store. A search of a home on West Berrien Street later allegedly turned up cash and other evidence.

Two others -- 22-year old Bryan Vann of Galesburg and 20-year old Albert Prater of Skokie have already pleaded guilty to weapons charges in the case and were sentenced to four to five years in prison.

Another -- 18-year old Shane Tatum of Skokie -- previously pleaded guilty to Armed Robbery and will be sentenced December 8th.

The final two -- 21-year old Searcy Boyd of Galesburg and 19-year old Jekorey Green of Detroit -- faces criminal trials in the coming months for their armed robbery-related charges.
