Travelers Encouraged To Be Flexible
Air fares are on the rise again, and one Galesburg travel agent advises travelers to keep their options open when choosing their flights.

Always Travel's Becky Patterson tells the WGIL Morning News flying regionally is currently the better bargain.

"Quite honestly here lately, it's been higher out of Chicago and St. Louis than it has out of Moline and Peoria, it's a real surprise to people," Patterson said. "But they try not to use, what they'd like is for you to use it as a connecting city not as a departure city. So it's not costing so much to go from Moline or Peoria."

Patterson says her travel office will always check which option provides the greatest deal by searching for alternative travel routes.

She says the rumors of air fares increasing as much as five dollars a day through the holidays is getting out of control.

Patterson says it's amazing how domestic and international fares are rising, but she holds out hope it won't stay that way.
