Another Pot Bust At Train Depot
Galesburg Police have made yet another arrest on drug charges at the Amtrak station.

Police reports indicate officers were conducting checks at the depot on South Seminary Street through the noon-hour Friday, when they checked 35-year old Russell Meyer of Colorado with his consent.

A check of Meyer's backpack through a police department K-9 indicated the discovery of what turned out to be just over 350 grams of cannabis.

Meyer initially admitted to having some pot on him, that it was for his personal use, and that a card on him proved that he could have it, since medical marijuana is legal in Colorado.

Meyer was arrested on charges of Possession of Cannabis, and Manufacture or Delivery of Cannabis, and was taken to the Knox County Jail.

Police arrested a Galesburg man several weeks ago on similar charges, after he got off a train he boarded from Colorado.

Officials said then that Denver seemed to be, according to one police reports, quote, "a source city for cultivated cannabis."
