Professor Advises Minimal Intervention In Libya
A Knox College professor of 44 years with a political science foreground says the current US administration in place is not in Libya to dictate results and outcomes of the community.

Dr. Robert Seibert says the policies call for providing help in the act of an emergency situation, which the US has done.

But he tells WGIL the US needs to show minimal intervention, going into Libya, and then pulling back.

"Do what's necessary to support the successor government, or the reforms that are neccessary," he said. "I think for the most part the idea of massive intervention, and nation building, and reworking the domestic politics of other countries is not on the American policy agenda right now."

"We've decided against that because it's proven to be difficult, counterproductive, expensive, and damaging to our national interests."

Moammar Gadhafi was captured and killed in his hometown of Serte over a week ago.

Seibert says the the act of placing Gadhafi's body in a freezer yesterday for Libyans to view provided concrete proof to the end of 42 years of beyond difficult times for the nation.
