Knox County Has New Board Member
He owns a small farm management business and is a lifetime resident of Knox County; now David Erickson can add county board member to his resume.

Erickson was sworn in during last week's Knox County Board meeting, running the county board's seats to 14 strong.

He tells WGIL he feels his perspective will fit the Knox County mold.

"My hopes are to continue to bring increased credibility to the county board to make it an organization that has continued desire by people who want to serve on it, that maybe we not necessarily meet all of the needs of the county members," he says. "But we listen to what their concerns are to make informed decisions for the best here in Knox County."

Erickson says he was contacted by a current board member on the vacancy left by Wayne Saline, and was one of three candidates to fill the seat.

He says his past experience on the Knox County Zoning Board of Appeals gives him working knowledge of how the county operations work.

Erickson will specifically handle county duties on the Finance and Building Commission.
