Monmouth hires new City Administrator
The City of Monmouth made a new hire for their City Administrator.
Former Galesburg and Monmouth Fire Chief John Cratty was appointed to the position at last night's Monmouth City Council meeting.
Monmouth Mayor Rod Davies says Cratty has helped the City of Monmouth with many economic development projects.

"We expect him to continue the momentum we've started here," says Davies. "We have some downtown renovation projects moving forward so we expect him to step in."

The Mayor says they wanted to make a hire before the elections. Cratty says he hopes to make this a smooth transition.

"I hope to keep the programs the Mayor and Council are moving forward in Monmouth," says Cratty. "I'll probably help them with a search for a permanent full time City Administrator."

Cratty said that, for him, it's not much of a transition.
