Knoxville High School cost estimates look good
The Knoxville School Board got a chance to see a cost estimate for the new high school.
The Board was shown two different cost estimates one from the Architects showing a cost of $30.5 million and one from their Owner's Representative showing a cost of $31.1 million dollars.
Superintendent Steven Wilder tells WGIL the cost is higher than expected but still under budget for what the state gave them to work with.

"We're under what the state had calculated which is a good thing," says Wilder. "Part of that money is a buffer which is money we hope we can hang onto once the project is set and done."

Wilder says the board got to see plans for the exterior and interior of the building but no final decisions were made regarding paint, carpeting, or the brick to be used.
He says subcommittees have met with the architects to whittle down the choices for interior and exterior design.
Wilder says in the next couple of weeks the Board will look at the options to make a final decision.
