Bond Reduction For Man Charged in Connection With Shooting Death
A Galesburg man arrested for allegedly having a weapon used in a shooting death in late-August of this year has pleaded not guilty, and has a little better chance of getting out of jail before trial.

Knox County Circuit Court records indicate 33 year old Barry Fletcher yesterday said he's not guilty of charges including Obstruction of Justice, Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, and Possession of Firearm Ammunition by a Felon.

Fletcher was arrested not long after the shooting death of 37 year old Terrell Allen, and was initially charged with murder accountability. A grand jury later opted not to file that charge.

Fletcher allegedly threw the gun into Lake Storey that 30 year old Jereme Carter of Monmouth allegedly used to kill Allen.

A judge lowered Fletcher's bond yesterday from 750-thousand dollars to 250-thousand. A request for a trial by jury was also granted.

Fletcher will be back in court for a pre-trial conference December third.

Meantime, Carter who still faces first-degree murder and other charges thanks to a grand jury will be back in court next month for a hearing, and again in December.

He's jailed on a million dollars bond.
