Students Work Together For Art
Studio Art majors from Knox College came together with the help of an Artist in Residence to create a Mural on the outside wall of The Box Gallery in downtown Galesburg.

Most of the students had only created pieces of work by themselves and never collaborated on projects before.

Studio Art major Alyssa Kennamer tells WGIL she came into the project a little late and at first was out of her comfort zone. She says she really didn't know how things would work and was unaware of what the artist was looking for.

"Coming into it I hadn't met the artist yet, hadn't seen any of her work, I kinda don't wanna say skeptical, I was a little interesting in what the collaborative experience would be like because it could go one of two ways."

Kennamer says the experience changed her view on collaborating with other artist and has even explored the idea of continuing to collaborate the rest of the semester.

She says with this project everyone worked extremely well together but knows that will not always be the case but Kennnamer says that wont stop her.
