District 205 Names New Superintendent
The District 205 school board named their new Superintendent at Monday nights meeting.

The board appointed Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction Bart Arthur.

Arthur is taking over for Superintendent Gene Denisar who's retiring at the end of this year.

Arthur says he's excited and a little anxious and knows he has some big shoes to fill.

Arthur tells WGIL he'll still be in charge of curriculum and instruction as well as taking on Superintendent duties and having the background in curriculum and instruction allows him to bring a little more to the table.

"I think it helps you obviously to have a good background in curriculum and instruction and I think that Superintendent's involved in so many different rolls that jut a piece if it but ya I do think that will help strengthen my position."

Arthur say right now the board's going in the right direction with building projects and redoing the curriculum and he doesn't feel the need to come in and start changing things.

He says after he has six months on the job and a better handle of things he'll try to input some ideas he'd like to see happen.

Arthur will take over January 1 st and will be contracted for two and a half years.
