John Sullivan Discusses Issues in Monmouth
State Senator John Sullivan took questions on upcoming Illinois legislative policy from community leaders in Monmouth, yesterday.

Sullivan is facing off against Republican challenger Randy Frese in the November election.

Questions ranging from pension reform to expanded gambling in Illinois took center stage.

Sullivan tells WGIL that when it comes to pension reform, having a three-fifths majority probably wont save Illinois' finances.

"More people are aware of the problems that we're facing, how urgent it is and how much of a priority it is to address this. But all it does is require the 3/5th vote to increase that pension."

Sullivan took questions for the better part of an hour at Security Savings Bank.

He says that, for him, pension reform must meet five criteria, including: being bipartisan and addressing all five retirement systems.
