State Attorney Responds to Accusations
Knox County States Attorney John Pepmeyer has responded to accusations made by his opponent Erik Gibson that Pepmeyer failed to show up for a debate last Thursday night at Knox College.

Pepmeyer said in a prepared statement Erik Gibson told the Register-Mail Pepmeyer had failed to show up for a debate a Knox College.

Pepmeyer tells WGIL in that prepared statement he's letting the public know Knox College confirmed no debate was schedule and they never sent out notices about a debate.

"I want the public to know that Knox College has confirmed that there was not a scheduled debate, that the college sent no notice of this debate nor purported to sponsor same in anyway shape or form."

Pepmeyer went on to say quote "at the best Gibson was misleading, at the worse he lied to everyone."

Knox College has confirmed no debate was scheduled.
