KCAP to Close at End of Month
FIRST REPORTED 3:00pm 10/25/12 Since 1985, the Knox County Area Project has attempted to keep County youth out of trouble with the law.

Now, after 27 years in business, the organization announced it will be closing it's doors at the end of October.

KCAP Director Rhonda Brady tells WGIL they need to get rid of their office supplies.

"All of our community committees have actively come in and taken supplies and equipment that they can use as well as a number of United Way agencies."

According to an e-mail, Brady cited a lack of funding was to blame for recent layoffs.

A lack of state grants was prevented the offices from being able to pay staff and keep the organization operational.

KCAP will be giving away it's office supplies to association United Way organizations.
