Galesburg Ghost Stories Come to Life
Around a hundred ghost and history enthusiast gathered last night at the Galesburg Public Library to participate in the "Ghost of Galesburg" tour.

The 90 minute walking tour started with 680 West Street where a Knox College student in the 40's killed himself and is said to still be walking the second flood of the home he live in and ended at Hope Cemetery around the grave of the first man ever buried in Hope Cemetery.

Resident Wendy Nothom came out with a large group of friends hoping to catch a glimpse of a real Galesburg ghost.

She tells WGIL Galesburg isn't her first ghost tour but the first time she has ever done one in Galesburg and says she has heard about a few of the haunted places around town but is really looking forward to see what kind of ghostly history there is.

"I read before I came about the Orval Cobb that was online, I know about a ghost in Cherry Street. I really don't know where we're headed but I can't wait to hear."

A tram was offered but Nothom says they decided to walk on the tour instead of taking the tram simple because ghost don't go after vehicles and they have a better change of running into something.

She didn't come prepared with an EMF reader but says she'd love to find out how to get one so she has it for her next ghostly adventure.
