Republican Nominee Stops in Quad Cities
Much like in the week prior, another candidate for President campaigned close to Galesburg, and took the gloves off.

Mitt Romney traveled to Iowa yesterday, and despite President Obama halting campaigning due to Hurricane Sandy, Romney took on a limited schedule, stopping in Davenport at a sod farm and making sure the crowd knew that he wants them to help in any relief efforts.

But Romney also criticized the unemployment rate since Obama took office, and claims Obama hasn't created jobs. The Republican says that can partly be remedied by improving overseas trade.

"If we can get trade right we can sell agricultural products, manufacture products services all over the world particularly Latin America. We can take down some of the trade barriers that keep us from being able to get into those markets. So there's a big opportunity for America and I want to make sure we finely confront the challenges and seize those opportunities, but for that to happen were going to have leadership in Washington."

Romney also wants to, he says, lower corporate and middle class tax rates.

He also said he wanted to reform education, but he wants to move teachers unions out of the way -- something the crowd cheered, but might not be met with favor among local unions.
