School Board Approves Bids For Project
The district 238 School Board approved the bid offer from a Canton based construction company to complete the interior of the Ag/Weight room for the high school.

The school was hoping the project would be finished in time for the 2012 school year.

Superintendent Edward Fletcher tells WGIL the project need a new direction if it was going to be completed sooner rather than later.

"It started last year and they were doing it in phases with the intent we were going to use a lot of volunteer to finish off the interior on the project. It's been proven its been difficult to get it all moving so I suggested to the board at the August meeting to allow me to bid it out, see what the bids would come in at and we can get it completed and we can get our students in there."

Fletcher says if they had not taken matters in their own hands they would still be waiting.

He says the board worked very hard to get the funding for the project and they are excited to move forward.

They are hoping to have students into the new rooms by second semester.
