Do You Have Two Ways Out of Your Home?
This week is Fire Prevention Week and the Galesburg Fire Department is attempting to inform Galesburg residents to have "Two ways out."

There have been 4 commercial fires in Galesburg since May.

Firefighter Dan Foley says it's important to have working fire detectors.

"Put the most important one which is the one near your bedrooms outside your bedrooms. Change that to a duel detector, that cost ya 20 bucks. If you have a hard wired system that's probably 30 bucks but that a reasonable thing to do. Now it might be motivation to check all the one's you have, but to actually throw them all away wouldn't be bad."

The Galesburg Fire Department will be reinforcing the "Two ways out" theme in area schools.

One student from each school will be chosen to ride to school in a fire truck.
