The Galesburg Township Prepares it's Budget for 20-13
The Galesburg Township did a reading of it's budget appropriations last night.

The Township was readying it's budget for the 20-13 fiscal year.

Township Assessor Darrell Lovell says they have a quality balance sheet because they budgeted when times were good.

"You know that's one reason we've been able to lower out rate and keep our reserves so that we have cash in hand like you do your rainy day fund and we don't want to get tax payers, tax payers don't want to see us get totally out of line and we don't we stay within those guild lines."

Lovell was referring to the fact that the township has been able to lower it's levy rate by 14 percent over 22 years.

That's compared to other departments which have raised their rate over the same period.
