Court Appearance for Alleged Robber
A Galesburg man who wasn't out of prison long before he allegedly committed a series of crimes a week ago will be back in court once again next week.

35 year old Anthony Williams was to be in Knox County Circuit Court this morning for a first appearance with his attorney on charges of Aggravated Robbery and Aggravated Battery, but it was learned that his Public Defender, Jim Harrell, couldn't attend the hearing due to a conflict.

So another hearing was scheduled for next Monday afternoon.

Police arrested Williams after he allegedly robbed the Shell gas station on Grand Avenue Monday around 9:30 pm.

That was after a call came in of an attempted armed Robbery at the Henderson Street Hy Vee Store.

Williams is also believed to have been connected with a similar incident at the Main Street Hy Vee, but the man spotted reportedly fled the store after being identified.

Williams is being held in the Knox County Jail on a quarter-million dollars bond.

He had just been released a few days before after serving time on a weapons charge from a 2001 case.
