Bradley University Has Role in Congressional Retreat
Members of the new Congress will be going on a retreat -- a bi-partisan effort to hear about how to work better together.

Helping organize that event in March is Brad McMillan, a Peoria man who left the staff of U.S. Rep. Ray LaHood (R-Peoria) to head the new Institute for Principled Leadership at Bradley University. The institute is working with other public-policy groups -- the Aspen Institute, Panetta Institute, and Bi-partisan Policy Center -- to put on the retreat in the Washington area.

LaHood helped organize such a retreat in Hershey, Pa., in the 1990's. McMillan says the other centers saw a region which gave the political world Everett Dirksen and Bob Michel as a good place to get bi-partisan ideas.

McMillan says while the retreat will be only a day-and-a-half long, there will be many follow-ups.
