New "How-To" Booklet for Potential Knox County Entrepreneurs
The area's primary economic development entity has helped put together what can be described as a primer for anyone starting a new business.

The Galesburg Regional Economic Development Association, University of Illinois Extension, and several other agencies have unveiled a new booklet their Entrepreneurial Support Network has published called "Where to Go For What -- Navigating Business Services in Knox County."

GREDA Vice President for Operations Dick Johnson tells WGIL the book should hopefully cover anything people would need to know in order to start a local business. "A typical path of a new business (is covered)," Johnson said. "First, the idea phase, then the startup phase, then the growth phase, and then key decisions you have to make for the resources you need to use, and then conclusions."

Johnson says in those chapters are phone numbers and e-mail addresses of local and state agencies one might need to go to in order to startup a new business, and also contains a "self-test" for entrepreneurs.

The booklet is available in a number of locations, Johnson says, including the Galesburg commerce center and many local banks.
