Facelift for Monmouth's Website
Monmouth's plan to create a more user-friendly website is complete.

The new site was unveiled at Monday night's city council meeting, and City Administrator Eric Hanson says it's something that was long overdue. The site has information about all city departments, city events, services and government.

Hanson tells WGIL the new website will also address one of the main complaints city officials get from the public. "We finally have the ability to collect online payments for not only water bills, but also ordinance violations, parking tickets, and those kind of things," Hanson said. "(We can) get all of our forms online. We're actually getting up to where most larger cities are, so we're really pleased with how it turned out. It should be launched by the end of the week."

Hanson says it's a much more inviting site and a nice introduction to the city via the Web. Officials are still working to set up e-mail accounts for the city council so constituents have another way to contact their aldermen.
