Three Arrested On Meth-Related Charges
Two Altona residents and one from Galesburg are in trouble with the law after a number of materials used in the manufacture of an illegal drug were believed to be found in a car they all were in.

Galesburg Police repots indicate officers making a traffic stop near the Galesburg Wal-Mart store around 2:30 Tuesday morning, not long after one of the vehicle's occupants, 46-year old Laura Ann Hilligoss, had apparently left the store without her purse or identification.

Police say a search of where Hilligoss was at in the vehicle allegedly turned up a substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine. A search of one of the passengers -- 33-year old Sean Norvell of Altona -- allegedly turned up a drop pipe along with a box, and a number of cold pills, typically used in meth production.

A search of the trunk of the car allegedly turned up items they say could have been used in stealing anhydrous ammonia -- including hoses, tubes, an air tank, and a metal valve.

Police say Norvell, Hilligoss, and 36-year old Christopher Claeys were all preliminarily charged with Possession of Meth-Manufacturing materials. Clayes faces an additional felony charges of driving on a revoked license, Norvell faces a charge of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and was found to be wanted on two warrants, and Hilligoss faces a charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance.

All three are jailed pending court appearances.
